I study how people live with chronic conditions like tinnitus, chronic pain, depression, and anxiety, and how technology and AI can help them build lasting resilience.
At the University of Twente and at Roessingh rehabilitation clinic in Enschede, I design and evaluate technology-based interventions for chronic pain. My work mixes therapeutic approaches (ACT, CBT, behaviour change) with machine learning, wearable sensors, and smartphone tracking, so I can see what happens in people’s daily lives, not just in the lab, and figure out what works, for whom, and why.
Away from work you’ll find me with my three kids, at the lake with a fishing rod, or at the movies.
